The Altoona Curve rallied for a four-run fifth inning and James Marvel pitched seven innings of two-run ball as the Curve beat Portland 5-2. The Curve have won three straight series and are 9-3 in June. The Curve rally came with two outs in the 5th. Jared Oliva walked with the bases loaded, Mitchell Tolman hit an RBI infield single, and the lead run scored on a throwing error on the same play. Then Bralin Jackson singled in another run.
The Curve travel to Binghamton to open a three-game road series tonight, with Domingo Robles on the mound for Altoona. He’s 1-1 with a 2.50 ERA.
