The Greensburg Catholic Diocese has not yet released its full lineup of new priest appointments, but they have provided us a list of the new assignments involving Indiana County parishes, which were announced to congregants this past weekend.
As we told you yesterday, Father William J. Lechnar will leave the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent to become pastor of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Kittanning and pastor of St. Mary, Mother of God Parish in Yatesboro.
Father Matthew J. Morelli, who is currently the parochial vicar of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish in Greensburg, will be the new pastor at Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent while continuing to serve as assistant to Father Daniel C. Mahoney as the Bishop’s Representative for Matters Pertaining to the Celebration of Mass in the Extraordinary Form
Also, a new pastor has been appointed to serve the Church of the Resurrection Parish, Northern Indiana County. Father James B. Morley will also serve as chaplain of SCI Pine Grove. He’s currently parochial vicar of St. Paul and St. Bruno parishes in Greensburg.
Father George Saletrik will move from the northern Indiana County parishes to become the new pastor of the St. Regis Parish in Trafford, Westmoreland County.
The new assignments are all effective July 1.
