The Greensburg Catholic Diocese has not officially announced its latest round of priest reassignments, but Father Willie Lechnar informed his congregation at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent this weekend that he will be transferred at the end of the month to the St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Kittanning. The Kittanning parish is a partner parish of the St. Mary, Mother of God Parish in Yatesboro.
Father Lechnar was the parish priest at St. Thomas More in Indiana from 2005 to 2012 and after a stint at Mother of Sorrows in Murrysville, was transferred to the Church of the Good Shepherd at Kent in June of 2014.
Bishop Edward Malesic has reportedly made a number of pastoral reassignments that will take effect July 1st.
