State Police have charged two Indiana County residents for their involvement in a harassment case on Saturday. Troopers say that they were called out for a reported domestic issue between 27-year-old Derek Storm Slaugenhaupt and his mother, 53-year-old Margaret Mary Barr at a home in the 500 block of Shady Grove Road in West Wheatfield Township. The two were engaged in a shoving match on Barr’s residence, leading to Barr throwing several items that hit Slaugenhaupt. Police also found a small amount of marijuana at the scene. Police have charged both Barr and Slaugenhaupt in the incident through non-traffic citations filed through District Judge Jennifer Rega.
The driver involved in a one-vehicle crash in Clymer over the weekend escaped injury after the dump truck he was driving hit a utility pole. State police say around 6:26 PM on Saturday, Thomas Hagerman of Clymer was driving a 2007 Freightliner dump truck when he was driving east on 553. He was unable to go through a left curve in the road, and eventually went off the west side of the road. The truck hit the utility pole and rolled onto its driver’s side. A portion of Route 553 was closed for three-and-a-half hours while crews cleaned up the scene.
