Prato-Helen Mae, 91, Homer City, passed away June 8, 2019 at home. She was born July 8, 1927 in Homer City. Daughter of the late Philip and Anna (Tomchick) Sisko. She is preceded in death by brothers William, John, Philip, Edward, and Frank; Sisters Paula Smith and Irene Zele. Helen is survived by her husband of 71 years Arthur Prato, son Art (Sylvia) Prato, daughter JoAnn (Scott) Wellen. Grandchildren Nicole (Josh) Little and Anthony (Candase) Prato. Great grandchildren Brooklyn, Mckinlee, Abryanna, and Anthony. She was the sister of Joe Sisko, Andrew (Eleanor) Sisko, Mary Ann (Dan) Volpe. Sister-in-law Judy Sisko and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lucernmines and the National Slovak Society. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday at C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, from 11 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 PM. Interment to follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the VNA/Hospice 950 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, Pa 15701. Helen’s family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of the VNA/Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Helen and her family.
