The Pirates took the three-game series with Atlanta by defeating the Braves, 6-1, Thursday afternoon at PNC Park, winning two of three.
Chris Archer pitched six solid innings for the win. Archer (3-5) pitched into the seventh inning for the second consecutive start, striking out six and allowing only two walks.
Colin Moran and Gregory Polanco hit home runs and Josh Bell hit three doubles. The Bucs scored three runs in the second inning and three more in the eighth.
