State police have issued their report on Tuesday afternoon’s collision between an Indiana Area School District bus and a car at the intersection of Ben Franklin Road and West Philadelphia Street, but they have not released the names, ages, or home addresses of two drivers.
Police say a westbound male driver tried to make a left turn from West Philadelphia onto South Ben Franklin, but turned into the path of the eastbound bus, causing the crash. The bus pushed the car into a utility pole in front of the Ben Franklin Elementary School campus, with the car partially beneath the bus as they came to a stop.
The bus driver was not injured. The car’s driver was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center by Citizens Ambulance, and subsequently flown to Allegheny General Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash continues.
