WHAT WE REPORTED EARLIER:
Sentencing is scheduled today a couple who pleaded guilty in cases involving two children.
Both Shannon Dixon of Creekside and William Dixon II, who is now listed as living in Gipsy, were originally charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, and two counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.
The intercourse charges against Shannon Dixon were dismissed and she pleaded guilty to two counts each of felony endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor corruption of minors, with non-prosecution for all other offenses. William Dixon II pleaded guilty to the same charges.
The case was proceeding to trial when the two entered their pleas. Judge Thomas Bianco had previously ruled that one of the children was not capable of testifying, but the other was.
Also in court today, 54-year-old Michael DeWayne Hoy of Clymer will be sentenced for simple assault. And 32-year-old Rickie Richardo Robertson Jr. of Braddock, Allegheny County, will be sentenced for a guilty plea to a single charge of conspiracy to corrupt organizations and two counts of possession with intent to deliver in a drug case, with multiple other charges dismissed or not prosecuted.
Finally, jury selection is scheduled for the trial of an inmate at SCI Pine Grove who is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated harassment by a prisoner. 29-year-old Randy Maurice Criste-Troutman of Mount Pocono, Monroe County, underwent psychiatric evaluation prior to trial. He is awaiting a homicide trial in his home county for allegedly shooting a man in a drug money dispute. Another suspect has also been charged in that case.
