The state police released their stats for the Memorial Day enforcement period, and for Indiana County, the statistics are great.
The state police reported that only seven crashes were investigated by troopers from the Indiana barracks. One person was injured in those crashes. Two crashes were alcohol-related while a third crash was drug related. Police also made 13 DUI arrests and made 16 “Self-Initiated” arrests.
State troopers made 1,245 traffic stops and issued 1,323 citations, including 950 speeding tickets, 34 seat belt citations, 48 seat belt warnings, 26 steer clear violations, and one child safety seat citation.
