Parts of Indiana County remain without power today after a stormy Saturday night. Power is out to as many as a hundred customers in the Blairsville area, with Penelec estimating restoration not happening until late this afternoon. The power supplier also estimates restoration of power this morning to customers in Jacksonville, Saltsburg, and Cherry Tree. REA estimates restoration this morning for an outage due to a broken pole and lines down just north of Blairsville.
Indiana County firefighters were hard at work last night, especially in southern portions of the county. Between 8 o’clock and 10 o’clock last night, firefighters were dispatched thirteen times, all for trees and/or lines down on roadways or on utility lines:
- 8:14 PM – Indiana #1 to Route 110 in White Township;
- 8:35 – Coal Run & Iselin firefighters were sent to Gemmell Road in Young Township;
- 8:37 – Blairsville and Black Lick to Route 217/Airport road in Burrell Township
- 8:45 – Saltsburg was sent to Nowrytown Road in Conemaugh Township;
- 9:15 – Coral-Graceton to Neal Road in Center Township;
- 9:16 – Brush Valley to Route 56 in Brush Valley Township;
- 9:39 – Brush Valley and Armagh firefighters were sent to another tree down on Route 56 in Brush Valley Township;
- 9:41 – Homer City was sent to Long Road in Center Township;
- 9:42 – Bolivar to Penrose Hollow Road in West Wheatfield Township;
- 9:47 – Tunnelton to Clarksburg Road in Conemaugh Township;
- 9:49 – Brush Valley again, to Aulds Run Road in Brush Valley Township;
- 9:52 – Blairsville and Black Lick to High Rise Road in Burrell Township;
- 9:55 – Coral-Graceton to Lear Road in Burrell Township.
