Barbara Ann Hughes, 81, of Belsano, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, at Cambria Care Center in Ebensburg.
A daughter of William and Agnes Davidson Edwards, she was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Johnstown.
Mrs. Hughes was a graduate of Black Lick High School. She grew up in Belsano, Cambria County and moved to Lancaster after her former husband, Richard Hughes, was discharged from the Marine Corp. Her first job was at a sewing factory in Nanty Glo, but she worked most of her career at NCR in Lancaster. Following her retirement, Barbara moved back to Belsano. She loved to bake in her spare time and enjoyed having her family share her baked goods. Mrs. Hughes loved to go the seashore when she was younger and healthier. She would go to Wildwood, N.J. with her children in the summer.
She is survived by two children: William Hughes and wife Janice, of Wrightsville; and Donna Hughes, of Torrance, Calif.; a foster brother, Andy Viola, of Virginia; four grandchildren: Gregory Hughes, Jennifer Boyles, Brandy Ditzler and Kory Brookens; seven great-grandchildren: Skyla, Madison, Lauren, Greyson, Hayden, Brody and Kaylee.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Indiana Unit, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
