Indiana borough council met last night and approved their part of the agreement for the multimodal project.
Last night, the borough approved a request from Indiana County to enter into an agreement to move forward with previous commitments regarding the project that will extend the Hoodlebug trail to Indiana borough. The borough committed $30,000 as part of the 30 percent matching funds for the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Transportation Fund Grant Program. The other two groups that will be a part of that agreement are IUP and Indiana County.
In other business, a stoplight’s future was discussed as a traffic signal along Philadelphia Street may come down permanently. Borough Manager C. Michael Foote talked about the project that would bring the signal down.

Foote has filed a right-to-know request with PennDOT for the traffic statistics at 11th and Philadelphia to warrant the light coming down. The borough plans to fight to keep that traffic signal in place.
