Lois Jean Denkenberger, 92, of Indiana, formerly of Kirkland, WA., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Bethany Place.
A daughter of the late William S. and Alice J. Gibson Muckle, she was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Indiana.
Mrs. Denkenberger was a 1944 graduate of Indiana High School. Lois previously lived in Kirkland, Washington and had been living in Indiana for the past 15 years. She loved to sew and had worked for many years in a sewing factory making drapes and furniture covers. Lois also worked in a meat packing market in Washington after moving back to Indiana. She loved to make and give away beautiful aprons. Her smile could light up any room and she loved to walk. She would walk many miles a day. Lois will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Nancy Belash, Greg Wolfe, Murray Wolfe, Linda Myers, Diane Muckle and Rick Muckle. Lois was the last member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Denkenberger; a brother, Wilmer Muckle; two sisters: Nellie Wolfe Gray and Mary Belle Nibert; three nephews: Eugene Wolfe, Lew Nibert and Jack Nibert.
Friends and family will be received from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., with the Rev. Ryan Moen officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
