State Police have announced that one of the people on the “Five Most Wanted” poster released yesterday was taken into custody early this morning.
Troopers say that 23-year-old Steven Raymond Aukerman of Blairsville was apprehended around 12:26 in the morning at a home in Burrell Township. Troopers found him locked in a closet in one of the bedroom. Aukerman was taken into custody without incident. Police wanted him in connection with a strangulation incident in Blairsville earlier this year. 20-year-old Cheyenne Nipps of Loyalhanna was in the bedroom before police got there and troopers have charged her with hindering apprehension by locking Aukerman in the closet. She is now in Indiana County Jail awaiting her preliminary arraignment hearing before District Judge Jennifer Rega.
Four people remain on the State Police most wanted list. They are:
- Eric Vaughn Young, Jr., a 27-year-old Pittsburgh man, who was wanted for a charge of felony conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver in Indiana that dates back to 2017.
