State police say that a Punxsutawney man escaped injury in a hit-and-run crash last month in Canoe Township.
Police say that 56-year-old Gregory Sanner of Punxsutawney was going south on Canal Street in Canoe Township when the car missed the turn. After crashing into the utility pole, the car crashed into a house at 587 Central Street. Sanner fled the scene on foot, going northbound. There were no signs of damage to the telephone pole, but there was damage to a masonry pillar that supports the front porch of the house, as was the porch stairs where the car was found. Sanner turned himself in the next morning to police. The car had to be towed away from the scene.
He was cited for failure to give information or render aid.
