A Blairsville man has been charged with indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault for a sexual attack on a woman while he was a houseguest at her Greensburg home in March.
30-year-old Thomas W. Swearingen Jr. is accused of assaulting the woman in the early morning hours of March 24th. She told Greensburg police she awoke at around 3 AM as Swearingen was forcing himself on her. The victim said she had invited him to stay the night and had also done so on a previous occasion. She gave police text messages from Swearingen in which he apologized and said he would “do anything to make it right.”
Swearingen was arraigned yesterday and released on $30,000 unsecured bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled before District Judge Chris Flanagan on June 6th. He has had prior court cases in the last year in which he was listed as a resident of Jeannette.
