Last night, the Indiana Borough Council discussed recent activities concerning un-licensed door-to-door retailers.
As Spring has come to Indiana, so have the opportunity for Door-to-Door salespeople to operate in Indiana Borough. According to a Facebook post from the borough earlier in the day, the borough received reports of someone going door-to-door asking residents if they can take a look at their old electric and gas bills. For someone to solicit door-to-door, they need to be able to register with the borough, and have their license with them when they do their soliciting. Police Chief Justin Schawl said that if there any questions on someone’s eligibility to sell door to door in the borough, the average person can ask for the solicitor’s license.

Schawl added that they are working on the situation concerning the unlicensed door-to-door salesperson, and if you have any information on the incident, you can call the police department at 724-349-2121 and an officer will be able to assist.
In other business, the board approved payment and change orders for the Community Center Project. David Fairman said that workers should be done by the end of the month, but he also said he would not estimate how long it would take for the library to re-stock their books.
