The Purchase Line School District is once again in line for an award from the state departments of Education and State concerning civic engagement among high school students that are eligible to vote.
Schools are recognized with the Governor’s Civic Engagement Award for registering at least 65 percent of their eligible students to vote. More than 3,100 students were registered in the second year of the program. Purchase Line School District has participated in the program since it started, and for the second year in a row, the district will receive Gold Status, which means they were able to register 85% or more of the student population. Purchase Line was able to register 92 percent of their eligible student population.
The school will be honored at an upcoming ceremony at the University of Pittsburgh’s Student Union Ballroom on Tuesday, May 7th.
