WHITE TOWNSHIP
State police report a number of criminal investigations, including one that has resulted in animal cruelty charges against an Indiana woman. Police say 45-year-old Mary Toman was observed by a witness as she shook her cat and beat its crate yesterday morning at an address along Oakland Avenue.
Theft investigations include a red, 2002 Honda XR80 trail bike, stolen from the back lot at 200 Airport Road in White Township on April 24th. There are also a two retail theft incidents: 41-year-old Careen Jones of Blairsville is accused of stealing a five-pack of Bic lighters from Martins in the Regency Mall yesterday shortly after noon. State police are searching for a man who failed to scan and pay for all of the items in his basket at the White Township Walmart store between March 26th and April 8th. The suspect fled in a vehicle which police were able to identify but the driver of the vehicle was unable to offer the identity of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
Police have filed charges of harassment and disorderly conduct against 43-year-old Sonya Marie Swinea for an altercation at Vennards’s Crossroads Convenience in White Township on April 22nd. Swinea, who is listed on another police report as being from Oxford, North Carolina, is accused of punching an Indiana woman in the face.
BURRELL TOWNSHIP
State police are also investigating a harassment incident in Burrell Township. They say a 16-year-old boy sent another 16-year-old boy threatening videos via social media on April 16th.
