Roger L. Miller, 74, of Creekside, died at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 28, 2019, following a long illness.
Born May 15, 1944, in Creekside, he was the son of the late Clyde C. and Dorothy Johnston Miller. Roger was the husband of Kathy D. Painter Miller, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1965.
Roger was a graduate of Marion Center High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren and enjoyed mowing grass on his tractor, hunting, fishing and playing cards with his family. Roger was a jokester, and if he picked on you, that just meant he liked you. He was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.
Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy Miller, of Creekside; he is also survived by seven children: Roger Miller, Jr. (Susan), of Creekside; Bryan Miller (Karyl), of Creekside; Shelly McGinnis (Scott), of Mars; Jason Miller (Alysha), of Creekside; Joshua Miller (Martina), of Creekside; Kristy Miller, of Elizabethtown; and Ashley Koren (Adam), of Homer City; 17 grandchildren: Brieann, Brandon, Sarah, Logan, Jacob, Kole, Kayla, Myah, Riayn, Mia, Reese, Katya, Jaxen, Giana, Charlee, Klyde and baby girl Koren, due to arrive in Aug.; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Linda Smith (Tom), of Creekside; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katy Diane Miller in 2007; his brother, Vernon Miller; and his sister, Bernadine Houser.
At Roger’s request, services will be private. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The observance of graveside military honors will be accorded by the members of the Military Forces Honor Guard. Robinson-Lytle, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the Indiana VFW Post 1989, 824 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
