Yesterday’s stormy conditions brought about some power outages across Indiana County and in some cases, it blocked traffic as well.
Indiana County 911 reports that starting around 1:00 yesterday afternoon, five calls were reported that involved either trees or power lines down or in some cases both. The first call came in at 1:12 PM with Blairsville and Blacklick fire departments called out for wires down on North Walnut Street in Blairsville. Commodore fire department was called out at 1:35 PM for lines down on Route 286 in Green Township. A third call was reported around that time on Route 119 near Tanoma Road in Home Station, and that reduced traffic to one lane on Route 119, with Marion Center Fire department responding later on.
At 1:44, another call for power lines down went out for Blairsville and Blacklick firefighters. This time on Route 217 North in Burrell Township. Cherrytree firefighters were dispatched to Buterbaugh Road in Clearfield County for a call by Clearfield County at 3:01 PM. Pine Township firefighters were dispatched to Nolo Road in Pine Township at 4:55. Finally, crews from Tunnelton and Blairsville were called out to Lewisville Road in Connemaugh Township for the call around 8:22 PM.
