The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board approved a project to build a new concession stand for the football field.
The new concession stand will replace an old stand that, in the words of School Board President Rick Harper, has been there since the original Blairsville football field was constructed.

The board, however, rejected the recommendation of the buildings and grounds committee of McClure and Company for the district’s ESCO project. Harper said that some members felt that they weren’t informed enough.

An additional buildings and grounds committee meeting will be held before the next general meeting and the public and the entire board are invited to attend.
Also, in the list of supplemental hires for next school year was Blairsville Football coach Rick Artley. Last month, the board rejected Artley, but Harper said that after talking with him about how he handled some student athletes, the board felt better about hiring him.
The board also gave their approval to a letter to state house and senate members in the district to support school districts providing their own cyber learning programs.
