After winning the first two games of a three-game set with the Giants, the Pirates lost to San Francisco, 3-2, Sunday at PNC Park and failed to complete the sweep.
Giants catcher Buster Posey hit his first home run of the season. Jung Ho Kang was thrown out at the plate to end the game after Brian Reynolds had hit an extra-base blow.
Chris Archer started and gave up all three runs in the fifth inning. Josh Bell drove in both runs for the Bucs. Reynolds collected three of the Pirates’ five hits.
The Bucs open a series with the Diamondbacks tonight at 7:05 p.m. Pregame is at 6:40 p.m. on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM.
