State police confirmed that two people died on Friday in a three-vehicle crash on Route 286.
Troopers say the crash happened around 5:30 PM. Troopers say 54-year-old David Wilson of Indiana was driving west on Route 286 when he lost control of the car on the wet roadway. The car went into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with another car driven by 17-year-old Makenzie Marie Deditch from Grafton, West Virginia. After the initial impact, the westbound car collided with a second vehicle behind the first one. Deditch and her passenger, 67-year-old Williard F. Allshouse of Saltsburg, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Wilson suffered minor injuries and was taken to IRMC, while the driver of the third car, 45-year-old Elizabeth Bush of Blairsville, suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to IRMC.
The state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services team was on the scene to reconstruct the crash and investigate. PennDOT assisted on the scene along with fire departments from Aultman, Homer City and Coal Run and Citizen’s Ambulance Service.
