State police say more than $200,000 worth of marijuana was seized yesterday morning from two New York men who were headed for somewhere in the region. Greensburg-based state troopers pulled over the car of the two suspects for failing to use their turn signal as they exited the turnpike at the New Stanton exit.
28-year-old Pengfel Wu of Brooklyn and 38-year-old Zhenfu Tan of New York City face numerous charges of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
Seventy-five vacuum-sealed bags of pot, each weighing one pound, were found in three duffel bags in the car. Trooper Stephen Limani said they do not know where exactly the men were taking the marijuana.
The two suspects are from China and do not speak English. After arraignment yesterday, they are being held in the Westmoreland County Prison, with bond for each of them set at $100,000.
