Gas prices at some stations in Indiana County have broken the $3.00 a gallon mark.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Indiana County, according to AAA East Central is $3.00 a gallon, but in Indiana County, there are some stations that have already gone above that average. Gas prices at the Sheetz gas station at 4th and Philadelphia Streets is now at $3.09 a gallon, which is the same as the Ben Franklin Sheetz. Other gas stations in the area have gas prices around $2.99 a gallon, including the Kwik Fill on Oakland Avenue and the E-Z Mart on Ben Franklin Road. In Homer City, gas prices at Sheetz are at $3.09 a gallon, while gas at Kwik fill is ten cents cheaper. Gas in Blairsville at the Sheetz is $3.05 a gallon, while at Accent Quik-Mart, gas is $2.99 a gallon.
Over the last month and a half, gas prices have gone up at a very quick rate. Jim Garrity, a representative with AAA East Central talked about some of the reasons why gas prices have gone up quickly.
