State police say no one was injured in a vehicle fire in Burrell Township on Monday afternoon. State troopers say that 19-year-old Jordan Borbonus of Blairsville was driving his pickup truck north on Cornell Road, but the truck began to smoke heavily. Borbonus pulled over in an area not beside any houses. While he did so, flames were seen to come from the truck’s engine compartment. The truck took on severe damage from the fire and it was not able to be driven from the scene.
Few details have been made available concerning a case of retail theft at Saltsburg. Police say on Monday around 4:04 PM, troopers investigated a retail theft at the Dollar General store in Saltsburg. The suspects are an unknown man and woman.
State police have charged a Clymer man with drug-related crimes after a traffic stop in White Township turned up some drugs. State police say last Friday, the unidentified man was pulled over at the intersection of Rose Street and Wayne Avenue for a traffic stop at 9:27 AM and police seized heroin and related paraphernalia as a result of the traffic stop.
