Indiana Borough Police have arrested an Indiana man and a Wilkinsburg man on drug-related charges.
Police say that around 10:01 AM on Thursday, Indiana Borough police along with the State Police took into custody 21-year-old Amir Mithcell during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street. Mithcell had in his possession 272 bags of heroin, three grams of crack cocaine, Xanax pills, an undisclosed amount of cash and a handgun. A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Matthew Pacconi of Indiana, had an additional 57 bags of heroin with him.
Mithcell was charged in a criminal complaint with three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia, and a firearm being carried without a license. Pacconi was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were arraigned in front of District Judge Guy Haberl and were placed in Indiana County Jail. The two are up for their arraignments on April 11.
