Yesterday, the Indiana County area was in the “moderate risk” area for fires, and emergency crews were busy yesterday handling two brush fires.
The first was reported by Indiana County 911 around 3:07 in the afternoon near Keystone Drive. Indiana Fire Association said that the fire was actually on College Lodge Road. The fire department reported that not only did the brush catch fire, but so did several large logs. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly and they were on the scene for less than an hour. No word on how many acres were damaged by the fire.
A second brush fire was reported by Indiana County 911 at 6:58 PM on Route 286 in Glen Campbell Borough. Few details are available on that incident.
