A 21-year-old woman from Dayton, Armstrong County was hospitalized in Pittsburgh after she was hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in Burrell Township.
State Police say Michelle Franco was walking along Old William Penn Highway at about 4:30 PM when she suddenly veered onto the road, where she was struck by a car driven by 67-year-old Margaret Patz of Blairsville. Patz swerved to try to avoid hitting Franco, but could not.
Franco’s head hit the windshield of the car and she was taken to the Allegheny Health Network Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville with suspected serious injuries. No one in the Patz car was injured.
