Trevor Williams and three relief pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout, as the Pirates blanked the Reds, 5-0, Sunday afternoon at Great American Ball Park for their first win of the 2019 season.
Williams struck out six batters while allowing three hits and a walk. Starling Marte drove in a run and scored twice. Adam Frazier and Melky Cabrera led the Pirates with two hits each.
Today it’s the home opener against the Cardinals, with Chris Archer getting the start. Game time is 1:05 p.m., with the pregame at 12:40 p.m. on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM.
