The USDA Farm Service Agency has announced that emergency loans are available for Indiana and Westmoreland County farmers are available.
USDA Farm Service Agency Farm Loan Officer Krystal R. Pizarchik announced in a news release that both counties were listed on March 20th as designated natural disaster areas or contiguous to a county that was affected by rain, flash flooding and flooding in the area. This designation makes all qualified farm operators in designated areas eligible for low-interest emergency loans from the USDA Farm Service Agency.
Pizarchik said that farmers who qualify have eight months from the date of declaration to apply for the loans that will help cover part or all of their actual losses. For more information on how to apply, you can call the Indiana County FSA office at 724-463-8547.
