Two people from nearby Avonmore are facing charges of animal cruelty after some dogs were found in a freezing-cold RV parked in Derry Township.
Reports say that 39-year-old David Gailbreath and Lori Gailbreath were both charged with animal cruelty and neglect for an incident on January 27th. That’s when agents with the All But Forgotten humane organization visited an RV on Quarry Road hours after the two were escorted off the property by a state constable. The agents heard a lot of barking amid 27-degree weather from inside the vehicle. They found a pit bull mix and a Chihuahua inside, emaciated and neglected for what looked like a long time. The vehicle itself had no water, heat, electricity or sewage.
Neither suspect could be reached. No word on when court action will take place.
