PennDOT is announcing some more road work that will begin next Tuesday in Green Township.
This will be for bridge projects on State Route 403 that goes over Dixon Run and for the bridge that carries Allison Road over Dixon Run nearby. Both bridges are expected to be replaced as part of the project. There will be some lane-width restrictions in effect on Route 403 starting Tuesday and will remain in effect until the project’s completion, which is expected to be in October.
During that time, motorists should slow down and expect some flaggers in the work zone, and motorists should expect congestion and delays in the project area. The cost of the project is expected to be over $3.2 million.
Also, just as a reminder that traffic pattern changes in the Route 119 Three Bridges Project Area will begin again on April 1st. Traffic on Route 119 between Route 56 and Luzerne Road will be affected by the construction, including the reduction of traffic to one lane in each direction. This is to facilitate the continued work on the rehabilitation of the bridge that carries Route 119 over Yellow Creek, the removal of the bridges that carry Route 119 over Tide Road and an abandoned private railroad. Also, a concrete barrier will be installed to separate the north and southbound lanes on 119 in the construction zone.
The Route 119 project is expected to be finished this August.
