Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Friday afternoon that criminal charges have been filed against four people in connection with a prostitution and human trafficking.
The four people charged in connection with this operation include Hui Xu of Mount Pleasant, who owned and operated four Tokyo Massage Parlors where prostitution took place; Chang Yu Chen of Monroeville, who would pick up young women from a bus stop and take them to the parlors, or move them from one parlor to another; Huicun Wei of Flushing, New York, the owner and manager at Judy’s Oriental Massage Parlor, who solicited customers at that location, offering sex acts in exchange for money; and Robert Yerick of Delmont, who also transported women to the massage parlors and was a frequent patron of the parlors. The investigation started after neighbors started seeing clothes being hung out to dry behind the parlors, cooking in pits outside, and sometimes strolling around the businesses.
The four turned themselves in for arraignment, but Chen had a reported seizure shortly after his arraignment and was taken to the hospital. The remaining people were taken to prison in lieu of bond payments.
Authorities have an arrest warrant for a fifth suspect, but a description of that suspect has not been released. State police assisted with the investigation.
