A day after Representative Jim Struzzi announced the release of funds for fire companies in the 62nd District – and for Citizens Ambulance – Representative Chris Dush has announced grants for fire companies in the 66th District, including six in Indiana County.
The Cherry Tree, Commodore, Glen Campbell, Marion center, Plumville, and Rossiter fire companies will receive funds ranging from $11,512 to $13,326.
The funds administered by the State Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner come from the proceeds of slot machine gaming.
Dush also announced that he has re-introduced his bill that would allow local fire companies to recoup real and reasonable costs associated with their emergency responses.
