There were two more brush fires in Indiana County yesterday, bringing this brush fire season’s total so far to 10 in the last nine days.
Yesterday’s fires happened within minutes of each other, just before one o’clock in the afternoon. Marion Center and Plumville firefighters were dispatched for a fire along Getty Road in East Mahoning Township. Clymer was summoned to assist minutes later. In their Facebook post, the Marion Center Fire Company shows pictures of the damage showing a large field that burned. They also report that the fire threatened a vacant house on the property.
Homer City firefighters were also sent to a brush fire yesterday, along Riverside Avenue in Center Township.
So far this season, there have been brush fires in Young, Armstrong, Green, Rayne, East Wheatfield, White, Washington, North Mahoning, and East Mahoning townships.
