State Representative Jim Struzzi yesterday announced that Citizens Ambulance Service and twelve Indiana County fire companies have been awarded more than $155,000 in Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service grants.
The grant money comes from state gaming proceeds, and can be used to build, repair or renovate a fire company or ambulance service’s primary structure; purchase or repair equipment; participate in training seminars and workshops; or pay down the organization’s debt.
The fire company grants ranged from $10,000 to $14,811. Citizens Ambulance received a grant worth $7,155.

- Black Lick Volunteer Fire Company – $13,491.91.
- Brush Valley Township Volunteer Fire Company – $11,512.73.
