Lubbock Christian beat Angelo State, 76-70 last night to win the South Central Regional and advance to the Division Two women’s Elite Eight. The Lady Chaps will join IUP, Nova Southeastern, Southwestern Oklahoma, North Georgia, Saint Anselm, Drury and Azusa Pacific in Columbus, Ohio next Tuesday to tip off the championship week.
The eight remaining teams will be reseeded today and the matchups will be announced. There is only one undefeated team in the field. That’s Drury, from Springfield, Missouri, which is 34-0 and will likely get the top seed. The Lady Panthers were the only regional top seed to make it to the Elite Eight.
