The Indiana Area Collaborative Team, better known as I-ACT, held their all-stakeholder meeting ahead of this year’s “IUPatty’s Day” unsanctioned event.
Over the past few years, IUPatty’s activity has ramped up to include rowdy and disruptive behavior. However, after two shootings in 2017 that resulted in one death, the amount of activity went down. That decline last year, and the lack of social media activity this year so far concerning gatherings for IUPatty’s is encouraging, according to IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll.

Robin Gorman of the I-ACT committee said that the group can’t give up on their duties and keep the efforts they’ve shown the last few years going.

Alternative Activities ranging from movies and trivia games to arts and crafts, and even a few sporting events are scheduled for the weekend. One thing that will not be scheduled are regular news conferences, like are done at Homecoming, which is an IUP-sanctioned event.
