Leaders of the Democratic party of the 41st District will meet today to select their candidate for the State Senate seat vacated by the retirement of Senator Don White last month.
Democrats will choose from IUP professor Susan Boser and Indiana restaurant owner Tony DeLoreto, assuming no other candidate emerges. The meeting is at noon at the West Kittanning Fire Hall.
Republicans are scheduled to meet on Thursday at 6 PM at the Lenape Heights Golf Resort in Ford City to select their candidate. They will choose between Senator White’s Chief of Staff, Joe Pittman, and Center Township resident George Karpacs.
A special election has been scheduled for May 21st, coinciding with the state’s Primary election.
