On Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors held their first meeting since the death of one of their members last week.
A moment of silence was held at the start of the meeting to pay tribute to Jerry Boucher, who died last week at the age of 82. He had served as a White Township Supervisor for 18 years.
Later on in the meeting, the supervisors unanimously approved starting the process to find someone to fill in for Boucher. The township is accepting applications for people interested in serving in Boucher’s seat for the rest of the year. They need to meet some requirements, including age and a minimum one-year residency in the township. Township manager Milt Lady talked about the application process.

Also, there will be an additional election held to fill the remaining two years of Boucher’s term, which will be part of the upcoming general election in November.
Also last night, the Supervisors have finally approved the storm water management ordinance. This was the ordinance that was recently approved for advertisement last month.
