Michael Edward Ballas, Sr., 94, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at his home.
A son of the late Michael E. and Teresa Ballas, he was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Alverda.
Mr. Ballas proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a partner, along with his brothers, Joe, Lou and Ed in the following businesses, Ballas Tile & Marble, Ballas Manufacturing and Ballas Real Estate. They also grew Christmas trees. He was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church and the VFW. Mr. Ballas enjoyed playing tennis.
He is survived by three sons: Michael Ballas, of Gila, NM; Mitchell Ballas, of State College; Mark Ballas, of Odessa, FL; a brother, Edward Ballas, of Heilwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Julius Ballas, Joe Ballas and Lou Ballas
There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Robinson-Lytle, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
