A woman who was appointed to serve the remainder of a term of a former Indiana Borough Council member who moved away has announced her intent to run for a two-year term on council.
Sara Stewart has announced she is running for the Democratic nomination for the two-year term for Indiana Borough Council’s Fourth Ward. She was appointed last year to serve after Lisa Kuzneski moved out of the ward. Her platform includes making Indiana more biker and hiker-friendly, and she supports the Inhabit Indiana initiative and keeping the Indiana-borough based elementary schools open.

She was previously a volunteer at the Alice Paul House and also supports efforts to prevent domestic violence and promote educational and career opportunities for women.
