White Township Supervisors met last night and got an update on a project at the S&T Bank Arena at the White Township Recreation Complex that has hit an unexpected snag.
Recreation Department Director Ryan Shaffer had said that the carpet inside the main areas of the lobby of the arena has worn out due to constant use, and cleaning them may not be a viable option. Township supervisors had approved the purchase of rubber flooring, which would not only make cleaning easier, but would also handle ice skates easier. But Milt Lady said that the rubber flooring did not pass fire code standards.

They are now looking at some different flooring types that can handle ice skate traffic.
In other business, the township supervisors received updates on the stormwater management ordinance that they approved for advertising earlier this month. The ordinance had not been posted for advertisement yet, but that will come soon. Lady expects the ordinance to come up for final approval at their first meeting in March.
