The congregation of the Harmony Grove Lutheran Church is inviting all to a prayer vigil tonight at their church parking lot.
The public is invited to the 6 o’clock prayer vigil, which should last about twenty minutes. Please dress warmly.
Church leaders say they are very grateful for the “unbelievable outpouring of support” they have been receiving since the fire yesterday at their church. State police have ruled that the fire was deliberately set by someone in the basement and in the alter area of the sanctuary.
The Creekside Fire Company, in a post this morning, said there is someone intentionally setting fires in and around its fire district. They will not specify which fires have been arsons beyond the Harmony Grove church fire, but indicate that there have been a “rash of unoccupied or abandoned barns or buildings that burned in the last few months.”
Assistant Chief Cody Hitchings said that he and a few other fire chiefs had voiced their concerns before Tuesday’s fire that there had been some other arsons in the area.

The fire company is asking people to be vigilant and if something looks out of place or you see someone doing something suspicious, call the state police.
