The State System of Higher Education yesterday announced another step in the System Redesign…four state-owned universities will introduce new program tracks that specifically target needs of employers in their regions.
Designed in consultation with the employers, the new programs include:
- Bachelor of Science in information technology (with a focus on healthcare analytics) at Millersville
- Master of Accountancy at Slippery Rock
- Master of Social Work at Slippery Rock
- Master of Science in physician assistant studies at West Chester
- Doctorate of Health Science in health sciences at East Stroudsburg
Chancellor Dan Greenstein touted the programs’ focus on workforce needs, saying they address the future success of students and the future of the commonwealth. Addressing workforce development needs has been one of the focal points of the System Redesign, which is in Phase Two of three.
No new programs have been announced yet for IUP.
