One need only look at Indiana County’s 911 website (http://www.indianacounty.org/911media/) to see how difficult the last 24 hours have been, with high winds ripping through the region. There have been more than forty calls for Indiana County’s emergency responders, with the bulk of them for trees and utility lines down on roadways, and power outages affecting thousands of people.
REA last night issued a statement that about 2,500 member were without power, mostly in Indiana and Cambria counties, and many remain without power. While REA’s outages were reported in the northern, southern, eastern, and western portions of the county, the northern portion was especially hard hit.
Penelec’s outage map also showed more than a hundred customers without power early this morning.
As to those fire company calls, one of them involved a tree down on a vehicle on Route 286 in Conemaugh Township yesterday afternoon, with no injuries reported. And there was a tree down on a house along Pauline Drive in Conemaugh Township yesterday afternoon.
