Next week, the Indiana County Sustainable Economic Development Task Force will release a plan that is designed to help farmers and businesses and expand access to locally-produced food.
The task force next Thursday will hold an event to release their action plan at the Oak Place Community Center in Indiana. The Local Food Places Action Plan is a five-point plan that was created during a two-day workshop back in October of last year. Over 40 community members took part in the workshop sessions. Some of the goals of the plan include building relationships to support increased community access to local, sustainable food, expand community outlets for local producers and help aspiring and current entrepreneurs in developing sustainable agricultural or food-related enterprises.
The event will be held from 7-9 PM and will give people a chance to talk with those involved in shaping the plan.
