Indiana Borough Police have filed a strangulation charge against an Easton, PA man for a domestic violence incident on Monday night at an apartment in the 900 block of Wayne Avenue.
23-year-old Solomon Akpor-Mensah is an IUP student majoring in psychology. Polcie were summoned shortly after ten o’clock Monday night and say their investigation revealed the Akpor-Mensah had strangled and struck a known victim, who suffered minor injuries but did not seek medical treatment.
In addition to strangulation, Akpor-Mensah is charged with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Christopher Welch.
Borough police report two other incidents:
- 28-year-old Brandon Henry of Indiana is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were conducting an investigation at a home in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue last night when they came upon the marijuana and a glass bong in plain view inside Henry’s bedroom.
- Police are investigating the theft of an Indiana Borough parking sticker from a vehicle in the 500 block of Church Street. Anyone with information is asked to call 349-2121.
